Ruchi Bhatt is a Senior Lawyer in the Sydney office of Ai Group Workplace Lawyers.
Ruchi has worked in industrial relations for six years. She started her career as an Associate to a Senior Presidential Member of the Fair Work Commission. Since mid-2014 she has primarily worked with Ai Group’s Workplace Relations Policy Team. In this capacity she has appeared on behalf of Ai Group in a significant number of major cases before the Commission in the context of the 4 Yearly Review of Modern Awards, including numerous Full Bench hearings regarding the Casual and Part-time Employment Case, the Domestic Violence Leave Case, the Annual Leave Case, the Family Friendly Work Arrangements Case, the Payment of Wages Case, the Accident Pay proceedings, the Public Holidays Case, the Annualised Salaries Case and the Blood Donor Leave Case. Ruchi has played a pivotal role in protecting and promoting the interests of Ai Group’s members throughout the Award Review.
Through her experience, Ruchi has acquired sound technical skills including the interpretation of industrial instruments, an in-depth knowledge of employers’ rights and obligations arising from the modern awards system and an understanding of the operational requirements and realities facing businesses in a broad range of industries. Ruchi regularly appears before the Fair Work Commission. As a result, she is an effective advocate and possesses an inherent understanding of the Commission’s processes.
Ruchi is renowned amongst her peers for her dedication and commitment, coupled with her keen attention to detail and ability to find practical and pragmatic solutions and strategies for employers.
