It is rare to find a legal professional who has walked both sides of the industrial relations aisle. Even more rare is Katherine, whose career of more than 15 years has endowed her with formidable breadth of experience, spanning across all facets of workplace relations. She has represented corporate clients in private practice, as well as in-house on secondment with a large manufacturing client. She has served in the public sector, as Principal Consultant/Specialist Consultant in the Industrial Relations Branch of the Department of Health and Human Services, while previous roles as a union industrial officer provides enables Katherine to provide our clients with an acute understanding of how unions work and the practical ways that they interact with business day to day.
Serving as a Legal Practitioner Director of Ai Group Workplace Lawyers, Katherine advises employers across all types of workplace relations and industrial relations issues. She can seamlessly traverse the technicalities and practicalities of law, unravelling legislative interpretation and complex issues in everyday language, while her ability to think outside the square provides members with customised solutions for long-term effect. With experience advocating in Full Bench proceedings of the Fair Work Commission, a range of other Fair Work Commission matters, as well as conducting litigation in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court, Katherine’s advocacy and litigation skills are first-rate.
